During our Denmark holiday in September Nellie (right) was mated by Ayrzol Jumanji. Already in 2006 I visited his owners Lonny and Martin Krægpøth and their Scottie males in Randers, north of Åhus.

The picture right has been taken just one week before the puppies birth. She already looks like a turtle!
On the X-ray we saw 7 puppies!
Soon after the birth started I have a funny feeling. We better go to the vet for a cesarian. It turns out that the uterus is already broken.
Thank god we are in time so luckily Nellie and her puppies are alright. Many thanks to my vet Konrad Murek and his wife!
No matter that of course the uterus has to be removed. Mainly Nellie is alright!

Very soon Nellie starts caring for her puppies on her own. She looks as she would say: All mine!
Their weights are between 220 and 250gr. - exept ...

Nellie the day after her puppies were born. She is really thin now. She now gets 6 small meals every day: puppy milk, turkey, vegetables, puppy food and oil. Additionaly she gets Lactovetsan (homoeopathic) to provide the milk production and Calcium. |

All puppies are comfortable. All have put on weight, also the little boy (far left).
Whenever I prepare the whelping box the puppies move into the cosy small box with a heating pad.
Also the little boy is putting on weight: 15 to 20gr every day.

Mom Nellie really has to work hard.
Within the first 2 to 3 weeks the puppies always stay in our living room. The welping box on the left, beside that is the box with a heating pad. During this time I am sleeping on the sofa next to it.
