September 2003

A successful couple.

Again Kylie (right) is in whelp with her last litter from Ch. From Dash Mountain Farm's Merlin (Owner: Ute Luig).

In 2003 Kylie has only been shown 4 times. And 3 times she has been best opposite sex...

... and always best of breed went to her son Sir Darnley's Mylord Mortimer (Owner: Helma van Wieringen, NL), like here in Luxembourg!
Actually Kylie proved her topquality as a brood bitch:

Her son Mylord Mortimer (from Ch. From Dasch Mountain Farm's Merlin) is the star in the ring and one of the most successful Scotties in 2003. He was 7 x best of breed, 1 x best low legged and 2 x best in show!

His litter brother Sir Darnley's Magical Mascot (Owner: Marianne Roos-Otten, NL) just started in November and was best of breed and best low legged Terrier on his first show.
And then the youngster (after From Dash Mountain Farm's Chuck) entered the ring:

Sir Darnley's Noble Nicolson (Owner: Helma van Wieringen, NL) was shown 2 x in youth class and gained 2 Jgd. CAC and was best of breed in Wesel.

... On this show his litter sister Sir Darnley's Nosy Nellie started in youth class for the first time. She has also won it with Jgd. CAC and went best opposite sex.
Of course now we are really lookin forward to see the development of the 4 girls out of Kylies last litter from Ch. From Dash Mountain Farm's Merlin, which were born on 10.11.03.

Here they are presented at the age of app. 8 weeks by the proud owners of their father, Ute und Andreas Luig.

And in 2004 Kylie's offspring continues:

Sir Darnley`s Mylord Mortimer (Owner: Helma van Wieringen, NL)

This year Mortimer went Vice-Clubwinner, German Champion, Dutch Champion, furthermore 4 x best of breed and 1 x best in show!

Sir Darnley's Magical Mascot (Oener: Marianne Roos-Otten, kennel Gulabin's, NL)

This year Magic went Brabo Winner (B), Vice-European Winner and German Champion. Additionally he was 5 x best of breed, 2 x best opposite sex and 1 x best low legged Terrier.

Sir Darnley's Noble Nicolson (Owner: Helma van Wieringen, NL)

Nick went KFT Youth Champion and European Youth Winner. He has not yet been shown often in open class with respect to his holder brothers. Finally in Kassel he took his first CACIB and went best opposite sex.

Sir Darnley's Nosy Nellie

Nellie gained KFT Youth Champion, Luxembourg Youth Champion and European Youth Winner. Additionally she was 5 x best opposite sex (while one of her brothers took the BOB) and 1 x best of breed and best low legged Terrier.

This is my "picture of the year 2004"! It was taken during the Terrier show in Hellenthal in July. Here we proudly present 3 generations "Sir Darnley's"!

Far left Multi Ch. Sir Darnley's Gretna Green (F: Ch. Pendlehill Magnus, M: Sir Darnley's Bumble Bee), at her right side her daughter Ch. Sir Darnley's Kiss-Curl Kylie (F: Ch. Raglan Ringmaster) and beside Kylie 7 of her offspring out of 3 litters: Ch. Magical Mascot (Owner Marianne Roos-Otten), the Youth Champions Nosy Nellie and Noble Nicolson (Owner Helma van Wieringen), Orla Online Oasis, Ch. Mylord Mortimer (Owner Helma van Wieringen), Olivia Offbeat Obsession and Mayson Montgomery (Owner Fam. Horn).

The Scottie Special in November 2004 in Bonn is a great highlight for Kylie and her offspring.

At the age of 7,5 years Kylie herself went best of breed out of nearly 70 entered Scotties. 5 of her kids went 1st. or 2nd. in their classes, her grandson won the male youth class.

Judge was breed specialist Avril Herd (GB, Feregait). =>HERE<= are all results and pictures.

February 2007

"Je oller je doller!" (a saying in our area that means something like: The older the crasier)  Kylie surching for mouses in the field. Just a few minutes before she looked ...

... like this!

In the meantime 7 of Kylies sons and daughters are Champions! At least 2 from every litter:

Multi Ch. Sir Darnley's Mylord Mortimer
Owner: Helma van Wieringen, NL

Mortimer is Kylies most successful son in the show ring. Between 2003 and 2007, beside many titles, every year he also wins "Best in Show" and/or "Best in Group".

Mortimers offspring in the ring are so far:
KFT-, Lux- + CH Jgd. Ch. Ciceron della Roccacia di Modigliana (B.+O: Raoul le Pelletier, F) and KFT-, VDH- + Lux Jgd. Ch. Redcliff Red Label (B+O: Sascha Breuer, D).

Multi Ch. Sir Darnley's Magical Mascot
Owner: Marianne Roos-Otten, NL (Gulabin's)

Magic visited us from end 2003 to 2005 for being shown by me. His stay was remarkably sussessful. Beside many international titles and "Best in Show" he gained all German daytitles on offer in 2005.

Two of his sons already went "Best in Show":
Ch. From Dash Mountain Farm's Mascot Man (B+O: Gerda van Stuivenberg, NL) and J. Ch. Rose's Crackerjack (B: Hermann Vehreschild, O: Hannelore Wilhelm-Krischke), again handled by me.

Ch. Sir Darnley's Noble Nicolson
Owner: Helma van Wieringen, NL

Nick is not so enthusiastic in the show ring and beside that he often had to respect his older half brothers Mortimer and Magic. Therefor he was not shown that often. Allthough he also gained D-, VDH- and NL Ch. and best of breed.

Nick's most successful son is KFT- + VDH Jgd. Ch, D. Ch. Aaron von der Westerweide (B: Martina Blumreiter, O: Roswitha Laufenberg), who also already went best of breed.

Multi Ch. Sir Darnley's Native Nugget "Esprit"
Owner: M. Achterbosch + Gerda van Stuivenberg, NL (From Dash Mountain Farm's)

beside her show record (D Ch, VDH Ch, NL Ch, Int. Ch.) Esprit developed to be a major brood bitch at the From Dash Mountain Farm's kennel.

Her daughters From Dash Mountain Farm's Look Again, From Dash Mountain Farm's Moonflyer and also her granddaughter From Dash Mountain Farm's Let's Look already are  KFT- and NL Jgd. Ch.

Multi Ch. Sir Darnley's Nosy Nellie
Owner: Maren Bichel

Nellie succeeds her mother Kylie being the leader of our Scottie family. Nellie deserves the same in the ring - in her opinion. Beside her several International titles, in 2007 she wins the European Winner and the Club Winner each with best of breed.

From her 1st. litter Sir Darnley's Portia Powderkeg (O: Petra Detemple) is shown sporadically. From her 2nd. litter Sir Darnley's Splendid Spark (O: Anne + Thomas Kühl, DK) is waiting to start in Denmark.

Ch. Sir Darnley's Orla Online Oasis
Owner: Rainer Schnock + Maren Bichel

Coming from youth class Orla went Best in Show in Limburg and Best Youth all breeds CACIB Kassel. Alltogether she was until now 11 x best of breed, 3 x Best in Show. Beside other titles she went 2006 VDH Century Winner, again with BOB.

Orlas 1st. litter is shown completely.

Sir Darnley's Rambling Ruby (O: Maren Bichel) already gained, at the age of only 13 months, KFT- + Lux. Jgd. Ch., Europa-Jgd. Sieger, 5 x BOB (incl. ES!), 2 x Best Junior in Show and 2 x best low legged Terrier.

Sir Darnley's Ragtime Rookie (O: Hannelore Wilhelm-Krischke) is KFT Jgd. Ch. and Sir Darnley's Rhythm Reggae (O: Nicole Meissner + Horst Reifert is raring to go.

Multi Ch. Sir Darnley's Olivia Offbeat Obsession
Owner: Maren Bichel

Olivia "privatly" lives in the family of my friend Gaby Matheisen not far but she also is a full member of our Scottie family.

Aside from her titles she was until now 6 x BOB, Best in Show OG Bad Homburg 2006 and best of the day + Res. Best in Show all breeds VDH Rheinberg 2007.

Olivias son Sir Darnley's Qubic Q is living with us in Grevenbroich. At the age of only 20 months Q already had a remarkable show career:

KFT-, VDH- + NL Jgd. Ch, DK Ch, Lux. Ch, Bundes Jgd. Sieger'07, Kopenhagen Winner'07, Europasieger'08.

For many titles he already won enough tickets, he is just too young to complete. Additionally he went 9 x BOB and 2 x 2nd. in Terrier Group on CACIB shows.

July 2007

Kylie watchs me working at the computer.

Also as a "veteran" Kylie enters the show ring - just because she enjoys it so much: Moving with enthusiasm, barking and telling everybody how much fun it is! Many friends will remember her like this.

In 2007 - at the age of 10 years - she wins a CAC in the Netherlands, in Denmark she is 2 x Best Veteran in Show.

By this Kylie gained the yellow rosette for being Denmarks 3rd. best Veteran of the year!

Afterwards Kylie retired and left the show ring to her offspring.

Later in 2007 Kylie got ill. Diagnosis: Bladdercancer. Prognosis: bad. Surgery or not? A hard time where we try to find the right solution for Kylie. Finally we decide against a surgery. Too big is our fear because in all probability a surgery would show that the cancer already is too far advanced.

Kylie gets Metacam (a pain killer that also blocks or slow down the tumor growing) and intervalic antibiotics.

January 2008, during a walk in the fields.
Picture above, f. l. t. r.: Q, Orla, Kylie and Ruby.

Kylie still is the boss of our Scottie family. Her daughter Nellie has just taken over the "daily ordinary police work".

We try to make Kylies life as comfortable as possible. She loves to accompany us to the horses - alone, without the other Scotties. Here she loves to steal carrots, apples and of course the cats food.

But in June 2008 we have to let our Kylie go to the fairly wide Scottie meadow.

No words to say how sad we are that this great Scottie lady is no longer with us.

She will live on in her children and gandchildren, this is our comfort. But Kylie will never be forgotten!

Kylie died 16.06.2008.
