Today the Links were updated.

There you also find a link to the English Springer Spaniel kennel "Bungee Jumper's", breeder: Patricia Verreet.

Patricia and I are close friends for app. 35 years. We first met at school. :-) So many things we experienced together, most of the times with our dogs or horses. As Patricia lived in England for a while, she also is responable for my good command of English.

Dogs were always part of Patricia's family. For several years she has Springer Spaniels and now finally her kennels first puppies are born. Two days ago her bitch Bungee gave birth to 11 puppies, 6 boys and 5 girls in liver/white and black/white. All are fit and well- congratulations!

I guess the coming weeks will be thrilling for Patricia and Bungee.

Black + White Show, 31.10.2009
in Tuusala, Finland

I felt really honoured when the Finnish Club invited me to judge the Scottish Terrier at their Black + White Open Show. The attraction of judging many Scotties that we normally never would see in our country, was bigger than my fear of flying. So I gladly agreed

Best of Breed Scottish Terrier and Res. Best in Show
went to

Ch. Brueik Summa Creation
(Ch. Berrybreeze Ilumination x Ch. Brueik Summabreeze)
Breeder: Liz Bradley (GB), Owner: Arja Tuuliniemi (FIN)

Best Opposite Sex and Best Junior in Show was
Quaint Nuez Moscado
(Ch. Brueik Summa Creation x Ch. Quaint Like A Spice)
Breeder + Owner: Reijo Portala (FIN)

To judge the 34 Scotties entered was as thrilling and at the same time as difficult as I expected.

The first view in the catalogue after judging was equally exiting. I had to laugh because: My BOB was an English Import and his young daughter was my BOS (on her first show by the way)! Another breeder managed to enter 6 litter brothers and sisters into 6 different classes. All have done well, 4 of them even won their classes.

The whole show was a great experience! I really enjoyed it!

Ch. Brueik Summa Creation
BOB + Res. Best in Show

Quaint Nuez Moscado
BOS + Best Junior in Show

Of course a detailed report will follow with all results. But again I have to ask for your patience. First I will try to catch up with translations and show reports.

Visiting Kennel Rose's in Goch

Already in May I visited Johanna und Hermann Vehreschild (Rose's) in Goch.

They currently have a litter by our Multi Ch. Sir Darnley's Qubic Q. The mother is Ch. Rose's Betty Boo.

Originally four puppies were born, but unfortunately two died within the first days caused by different reasons.

The other two are developing nicely, loved and reared by mom Betty and their breeders. The picture above shows the black female and below the dark brindle male.

I think both are very promising and I am looking forward to seeing their further development! In a few weeks I will see them again, then there will be new pictures.

We had visitors:

Beginning of May Betty Smit-Kamerbeek, Scottie breeder from Holland (Lucia's Dream), visited us to show her puppy Lucia's Dream Supersonic, called Darwin.

Darwin's  parents are Multi Ch. Sir Darnley's Qubic Q and Multi Ch. Lucia's Dream Storm in a Teacup.

Even though he grew up as a single puppy and is app. 5 weeks younger than our puppies, he loved to play with Tasty and Truffle.

Darwin already is a very pretty and self confident little Scottie. We are looking forward to see his further development.

Today it is 25 years ago that "Darnley" was born!

Multi Ch. Alex von der Leinemasch,
called "Darnley"

14.05.1984 - November 1995
S: Ch. Downtown Duke
M: Cosima von Creynveld
B: Fam. Ahrens, Laatzen

Darnley was my first dog ever, everything started with him. By him my life changed completely.

He was a great companion, a gentleman, a real friend!. First of all my parents were not thrilled about having a dog in the family but this changed quickly. My father often called him "Sir". This is where my prefix "Sir Darnley's" came from.

Today Darnley stands in the 4th. or 5th. generation of all our Scotties. His great personality will never be forgotten.

In the report she wrote: "Top Quality bitch, super head, excellent body, nice topline, very good angulations. Sound in front and rear. Coat in best condition".

Ruby's brother J. Ch. Sir Darnley's Ragtime Rookie (Owner: Hannelore Wilhelm-Krischke) got the  Res. CAC.

I am still working on the report from Crufts. It ist quite some work, being not so familiar with the English system. For example: In the catalogue the dogs and their dates are listed in front and in alphabetic order of their owners. Behind that the classes are listed but only the dogs names are mentioned here. Additionally there is no defined order in the ring.  :-)
With this system and the big classes it is quite difficult to find out who was missing in the end. But I managed to find that out in the meantime. You can easily find the rankings in the internet. But if you want to know who else was there: =>HERE<= you can find all entries. Pictures and report will hopefully be finished until next weekend.

During next week some new pictures from out T-litter should follow also. Additionally 2 litters sired by Q were born in Holland and Germany. So there is a lot to report about.

A great THANK YOU for all the messages we received during last week. I is very emotional to get all these sympathies on Orla's unexpected loss.

As you may see the puppies are doing well. In the meantime Ruby starts feeling responsable for her little brother and sisters.

The feedback to our results at Crufts are overwhelming  - a great THANK YOU again!

New pictures of the puppies and from Crufts will follow as soon as possible.

Last week was an emotional rollercoaster!

Last Tuesday we had to say goodbye to our Ch. Sir Darnley's Orla Online Oasis. Completely unforseen and harrowing for us!

We thought that she had a pyometra but during the surgery it turned out that Orla had cancer allover. It was impossible to help her, we had to let her go.

Orla was the most kind-hearted Scottie in our family, she was only 5 years. She loved to nurse her two litters (R and T). The little trio is just 6 weeks and doing well.

Orla, we miss you so much!

I would have stayed home if that would have brought Orla back home. So it was decided that I go to Crufts to show her daughter Ruby and her nephew Q.

Crufts Dog Show in Birmingham (GB) -
the world biggest dog show!

Since the 80ies I already wished to be able to show on this main event in the home country of our breed. Just to stand in this ring for the first time, showing your own Scottie, is a great feeling wich cannot be described!

There were 91 Scotties entered. Here are our results:

Ch. Sir Darnley's Qubic Q
S: Ch. Lucia's Dream Scandalizer
M: Ch. Sir Darnley's Olivia Offbeat Obsession

2nd. in Open Class (14 entries) and Res. CC (of 42 dogs).

Sir Darnley's Rambling Ruby
S: Ch. Ashgate Three Penny Moon
M: Ch. Sir Darnley's Orla Online Oasis

2nd. in Limit Class (11 entries).

There were 2 other exhibitors from Germany. But Q and Ruby were the only German bred Scotties. Of course I am very proud that both were ranked in the top!

I want to dedicate this lovely success to Orla. She was alltime with us.

A detailed report will follow. All placements can already be found at www.crufts.org.uk or www.nestc.co.uk.

Our Ruby in her favorite position, the meerkat. She can sit on her bottom like this for minutes!

She started this herself, we have not taught her. I think she makes the meerkat to have a better overview than the other Scotties.

But who on earth would be able to resist this charming character???

23.02.2009

Our "T-litter" already is 4 week of age.

The proud parents are Ch. Sir Darnley's Orla Online Oasis and Ch. Ashgate Three Penny Moon (Owner: Gerda van Stuivenberg, NL).

The two black girls and the brindle boy are the same combination like our "R-litter".

Now finally there are detailed information and new pictures available:    =>HERE<=

It took a long time - but now:

I have finished the
annual review  2008!

We really had a busy year, therefor the review is quite large this time.

Of course we were extremely happy about the lovely show results of our dogs on many shows.

Both Ch. Sir Darnley's Qubic Q and J. Ch. Sir Darnley's Rambling Ruby were the most successful Scotties on German shows! Wow, we never made this before!

=>HERE<= is the detailed review 2008. Added by a summery of all shows we attended: =>HERE<= and an overview about the results of the particular dogs:  =>HERE<=.

Have fun with it.
